Two Days In Person
Artists Against Abuse is a community-powered fundraising weekend in North Adams, Massachusetts, bringing together artists, advocates, survivors, and supporters to raise funds for creative programs that support survivors of abuse. In partnership with I Know Why She Stayed, this event uses art, storytelling, and collective action to turn creativity into real-world impact.
The weekend features a Friday night fundraiser with live music and a silent auction, a Saturday artists marketplace and afternoon speaking event at Mass MoCA, and a Sunday community brunch. This is not a traditional conference—it’s an arts-centered experience designed to engage the local community, uplift survivor voices, and ensure that art directly funds safety, resources, and change.

She Will Not Obey is a collective art exhibition honoring women who refuse silence, submission, and erasure. Through visual art, mixed media, and symbolic portraiture, the exhibition explores resistance, survival, sovereignty, and the power of women who reclaim their voices in the face of abuse, oppression, and control. Each piece stands as both testimony and declaration—this is what it looks like when women choose themselves.
Created as an act of witness and defiance, She Will Not Obey centers truth over comfort and courage over compliance. The exhibition invites viewers to sit with what has been endured, what has been survived, and what is still rising. It is not art meant to be passive—it is art that disrupts, remembers, and insists on a future shaped by women who will not obey systems that harm them.
